Sustainable Production

We upcycled a derelict linen mill in the village where we are from in Ireland. It doesn’t get much more eco-friendly than that. Repurposing an existing mill has had a hugely positive impact on our carbon footprint. We have upgraded and improved the existing site where necessary in order to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and to ensure that the site operates efficiently.

Then things got really serious. We recommissioned the unused hydroelectric turbine that once powered the mill, way back when. So now all of our machinery, lights, heating and internet is powered by water from the River Boyne which runs beside us. We don’t use any oil, gas or carbon fuels onsite or any electricity from the grid. We are powered by nature.

Our workforce are local, in fact many of us went to school together. We have 4 sets of siblings in the workshop and plenty of guest appearances when things get really busy, we literally are family and we treat our people like family. Local employment rocks.

We still make things the traditional way, handmade, with the personal touch. It takes time and care and love and patience - that's the handmade way. And that’s what we are all about and it's not going to change.
